30 Jan Housing Solutions Strive Begins
Today saw the Housing Solutions host the first day of their Strive, which will help local residents to start their own business over the next 12weeks. Housing Solutions innovative support for their residents’ business aspirations has made them one of the leaders in the housing association sector.
Fifteen residents have started the programme with business ideas in everything from dog grooming to wood sculpture, and from paper cup manufacturing to wedding invitation design services. Entrepreneur and trainer Paul Funnell, who is co-leading the project with Enterprise CUBE, was clearly impressed by the potential within the group, “It’s great to hear so many people passionate about starting what could be fantastic businesses.”
Enterprise CUBE’s team have worked with Housing Solutions on previous enterprise projects, their partnership definitely has high expectations for those starting today’s Strive programme, “We think anyone in this room could be running a successful start-up within six months.”
Through previous projects Housing Solutions have already supported residents through purchasing and contracting services directly from them. One resident, Luke Corriette, is currently in the final stages of gearing up to supply a grounds maintenance contract, whilst Masha Lloyd-Jones has run several workshops on nutrition to Housing Solutions staff.
