Creating and
Unlocking
Business for
Everyone
THE MISSION
Enterprise CUBE is an exciting place where innovative things are going on all the time. We’re Creating and Unlocking Business for Everyone…everyday.
Our mission is simple; to help people unlock the power of business to bring about positive change in their lives and communities.
We are a community interest company and use our profits to support disadvantaged entrepreneurs.
Whether you are trying to start your own business or looking to support a community or organisation be more enterprising – you are in the right place.
By the way, this isn’t a photo of us, they are four very happy volunteer dragons giving out some micro-grants.
What we do…
As a team of entrepreneurs, we love starting our own business or pop-up projects just as much as we love helping others to do it for themselves. We create social enterprises and advise and facilitate organisations on enterprise creation, but we are best known for our start-up training schemes and running campaigns for grassroots entrepreneurs facing disadvantage.
LAUNCH TEAM
As a team, we’ve started three award-winning social enterprises, and worked on the start-up plans of several others for major organisations and ourselves.
Start-up Incubators
Our award winning start-up projects bundle workshops, one-to-one advice, resources, community and a team of experts together to create Strive – ‘the nicest place to start something.’
Advising Enterprise
Over the years we’ve helped big and small teams with everything from initial feasibility studies to tackling major financial sustainability shocks.
Social Campaigns
Running events, mobilising key workers, releasing research, giving talks, lobbying stakeholders. We don’t have an active campaign currently, but we’ll happily do it all again to create impact on the ground.
VIRTUAL Projects
We’ve all heard that online ‘just isn’t the same as face-to-face’. Well, we believe it can be better. Since 2014, we’ve been building learning platforms, digital resources, remote support and our live production skills that prove it.
Operating Enterprise
We don’t just start projects, alongside running Enterprise CUBE we’ve also overseen other social enterprises for months or years to help support their impact.
Pop-up Projects
Whether they last one day or two months we run our pop-up shops, markets, and cafes to create vibrant showcases for new micro-entrepreneurs.
Staff Training
We train teams in innovation, social impact and enterprise related topics. Covering everything from innovation concepts to measuring needs and impacts.
'Hack' Days
Sometimes it all makes sense in training, but then when you try it in the real world – it all falls apart. In our development days we work alongside you as we ‘hack’ solutions to those real world challenges.
These days we’re pretty busy unlocking the world of business for others, but you can see some of the businesses we’ve created below. If you want to find out about the team’s individual side-hustles or previous businesses you’ll have to wait for our new team pages!
Our Partners…
We get to team up with a great bunch of people and organisations that believe micro-enterprise can be a vehicle for positive change in the UK.

Some of our pals may have merged or rebranded – they quite like doing that.

Enterprise Creation
Our founders first worked together creating Aspiring Community Works for the Aspire Foundation. Paul sold it, Richard set it up, and local residents are still running this award winning little social enterprise today. ACW won national awards for it's social impact under Richard's management.

Created & Operated
We launched OUR Croydon CIC to renovate empty homes, provide local employment and affordable housing across Croydon. From 2010-2017 Enterprise CUBE operated Our Croydon. In that time 13 derelict homes were brought back into use to house families without permanent homes - many are still homes to the same families today.

Pop-up Shop
This six week pop-up shop gave grassroots enterprises a showcase in the heart of Maidenhead. Our start-up course had a great mix of businesses, Perfect Friday Wine hosted our launch party while Joseph Louden snapped press shots of the Mayor cutting the ribbon, and a dozen retailers made sales.

St Paul's Pop-up Cafe
Just 100m from the steps of St Paul's cathedral, we couldn't pass on the opportunity to run a pop-up cafe in the heart of London's financial district. Our pies were to die for thanks to Striver Paula Hines - an award winning head patisserie chef from Harrods. Paula tested her business in our pop-up space, before going on to open a permanent cafe.

Co-working Hub
Our 60 seat co-working hub, Genesis CUBE, used meanwhile space to create a fantastic subsidised space for disadvantaged entrepreneurs. We created and operated the hub for 3 years, in partnership with Genesis a London based housing association. Hence our last minute hub name; the Genesis CUBE!

Our Biggest Campaign So Far...
This 4 year campaign called on housing associations to support self-employment amongst residents. Annual conferences, support networks, talks and our research culminated in success in 2018 when the EU funded UK and French housing associations to replicate the work of Enterprise CUBE's Strive projects at scale. We called that job done... ...but maybe we spoke too soon. Watch this space!

Entrepreneurs Supported
Working with people who want to start a business is the cornerstone of what we do. We've helped over 6,000 individuals unlock enterprise through our Strive start-up projects.

Enterprising Communities Support & Facilitation
We love to support community groups and professionals in unlocking the power of business. You'll find us advising, facilitating and leading all sorts of projects. We work with social enterprises, councils, communities and charities who want to unlock the potential of enterprise.

Face-to-Face Projects User Rated Above 94%
We love a room packed with people looking to start something. We're just as happy in a run-down community centre, as a swanky boardroom, or packed conferences. Wherever we are, we have fun, swapping tips, training business concepts, deep diving on those hard and soft skills, and sharing stories.

Partners Have Re-booked Our Virtual Incubators
Every single funder or client we've worked with has re-booked our virtual incubator project Strive. Want to know why? Because they're ace! Of course. Want to know more? Just send us a message and we'll put you in touch with them.

A Bit of Recognition
We've been going a while, so we've picked up a few awards but we've given out more. The social impact of our work has been recognised nationally a few times, notably by both TPAS and the NHF. But we've given out hundreds of awards and grants to grassroots entrepreneurs. After all, they're the real stars.
