Maidenhead Strivers make their mark

Our latest Strive programme made a real impression in Maidenhead as it drew to a close yesterday, with our fantastic partners Housing Solutions helping this batch of Striving entrepreneurs’ get one step close to fulfilling their potential. 15 entrepreneurs spent 12 weeks working on their businesses with our Strive trainers, producing business plans, cash flows and presentations ready for yesterday’s ‘Dragon’s Den’ awards day. They all wowed the Dragon’s Den panel, which consisted of Councillor David Burbage, Radian Housing’s Chris Adams, Housing Solutions’ Andrew Roberts and Liz Siggery, all of whom were able to offer excellent advice and feedback to all our Strivers on their business plans. Councillor Burbage said ‘I’m excited to see all the Strivers here today, it’s always inspiring to see the new start-ups each Strive course brings’.

The judges were also lucky enough to sample Devangi McIntyre’s delicious Bhumi Juices, an organic cold pressed juice company. Devangi’s venture is bang on trend and taps into the ever-expanding health-conscious market; why not visit her website to find out more.

With businesses ranging from financial services to waxing specialists to fitness experts to gardeners and even more, the panel were particularly impressed at the hugely varied spectrum of entrepreneurs who pitched. Some residents are already out there making sales and delivering contracts, with others choosing to start-up later on this year. We were delighted to hear that Owen Jesseman of Stonefield Property Maintenance secured his first contract, and that David Linaker from Admotion is making sales through his Strive contacts and beyond.

We can’t wait to see what these Strivers can bring to the flourishing Striver community in Maidenhead. Watch this space!
